Job summary

DayOne invites graduates to join as a Critical Systems Operations trainee within its global data center portfolio. You will gain hands-on exposure to data center critical infrastructure, including MEP systems, safety procedures, and facilities management.

Working under engineers and technicians, you will assist in monitoring, routine checks, and maintenance coordination while developing analytical, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills essential for future roles in building services engineering.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or a related field
• Strong interest in data center operations, facilities, or critical engineering systems
• Basic understanding of engineering principles (MEP preferred)
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving mindset
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to learn, take instructions, and work in a team-based environment

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and basic operation of MEP systems within the data center
• Support routine checks of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and security systems to ensure normal operation
• Learn and follow established safety policies, procedures, and best practices under supervision
• Support shift teams with daily operational activities and handover documentation
• Observe 24/7 operations and assist with coordination tasks as assigned
• Help with simple planning and tracking activities related to resources and workflows
• Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance activities under the guidance of engineers and technicians
• Support coordination with vendors and contractors during maintenance or minor upgrade works
• Help collect maintenance data, log issues, and track work orders
• Learn basic troubleshooting techniques and assist in issue resolution under supervision

Critical Systems Support

• Support compliance with building codes, environmental, health & safety requirements

• Participate in safety briefings, drills, and training sessions

Technical & Analytical Support

• Assist in evaluating facility systems and operational performance
• Help gather, organize, and analyse operational data and reports
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies or improvement opportunities

Learning & Development

• Gain hands‑on exposure to data centre critical infrastructure and facilities management
• Learn industry best practices, standards, and operational procedures
• Support the Mechanical Engineering Manager and Critical Services Manager on assigned projects and initiatives

Candidate Requirements
