Job summary

Momentum is seeking a skilled Java/Spring Boot developer to design and build microservices and Angular-based front-end solutions. The role emphasizes cloud-native architectures and distributed systems with openness to AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity and code quality.

Candidates should have a relevant IT degree, 4-6 years of software development experience (financial services preferred) and familiarity with RESTful APIs, Docker exposure, and test automation.

Qualifications

• Relevant IT degree or diploma required.
• 4-6 years software development experience, preferably in financial services.
• Investment environment experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Frontend development using Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, HTML/CSS and REST API integration.
• Backend development using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA and Spring Security.
• Design and implement microservices architectures and distributed systems.
• Engage in architecture and integration work including JMS and messaging technologies.
• Utilize WebSphere, Gradle and Git in the CI/CD workflow.
• Adopt Agile practices, write unit tests (JUnit/Mockito) and participate in design sessions.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to design and develop Java/Spring Boot microservices and Angular-based front-end solutions, aligned to modern cloud-native and distributed system principles.

The role requires a demonstrated openness to adopting modern development approaches, including the use of AI-assisted development tools and practices to enhance productivity, code quality, and solution design.
