Job summary

Rhodes University is seeking an Intermediate Business Analyst to translate business needs into clear requirements and ensure alignment across teams. The role involves documenting procedures, supporting project delivery, and backlog grooming within the PMO.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of BA experience, a solid understanding of the payments environment, and strong MS Office, Draw.IO, Jira, Confluence, and Visio skills. Fluent business English is essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification.
• 3–5 years of business analysis experience.
• Strong understanding of the payments environment (retailers, digital, banking, card schemes, EFT, settlement, acquiring).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and BA tooling (Draw.IO, Jira, Confluence, Visio).
• Fluent in business English; additional languages are beneficial.

They communicate effectively across all levels and functions of the business, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously while confidently bridging the gap between business and technical teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Gathering and documenting business and reporting requirements.
• Translating business needs into functional documentation.
• Documenting procedures and workflows.
• Supporting project delivery and backlog grooming within the PMO.
  
• Managing requirement changes and maintaining BA documentation.
• Supporting UAT and ensuring features meet requirements.
• Continuously improving analysis tools and processes.
• All other tasks related to the role.

Required skills and experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualification;
• 3-5 years of similar business analysis experience;
• Strong understanding of the payments environment (retailers, digital, banking,
  card schemes, EFT, settlement, acquiring, etc.) is crucial to the role;
• Full understanding of the Microsoft suite, Draw.IO, Jira, Confluence and Visio;
• Valid driver’s license, own transport;
• Fluent in business English; additional languages will be seen as beneficial.
