Placements24 is recruiting an Insurance Product Developer for its Paarl, Western Cape HQ. The role focuses on conceptualising, designing and launching competitive insurance products, working with actuarial, underwriting, legal and marketing teams to ensure profitability and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 4–6 years in insurance product development, strong analytical and project management skills, and a customer-centric approach. This hybrid role offers growth in a premium Winelands setting.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in insurance product development or related strategic role.
• Proven track record of launching new insurance products.
• Strong understanding of South Africa insurance principles and regulatory environments.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional project management and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Passion for innovation and customer-centric product design.

Responsibilities

• Research market trends, customer needs and competitor offerings to identify opportunities.
• Design and develop innovative insurance products, including policy features and pricing.
• Collaborate with actuarial teams on feasibility and profitability analyses.
• Work with underwriting to define risk appetite and guidelines.
• Ensure all new products comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Develop product launch plans with marketing and sales.
• Manage the product lifecycle from ideation to launch and review.
• Analyze performance and implement enhancements as needed.
• Prepare business cases and proposals for new initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across departments.
