Job summary

RemoteCA Limited is seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant with 2–5 years of post-qualification experience, with a strong accounting background in the insurance or reinsurance sector. The role covers financial reporting, month-end close, controls and broader accounting needs in a regulated setting.

You will work with underwriting, actuarial, finance and operations teams to ensure accurate financial information and robust controls, while supporting budgeting and regulatory reporting initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with CA(SA)/ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent.
• 2-5 years' post-qualification experience.
• Experience in insurance or reinsurance business is required.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close and balance sheet management.
• Experience in a regulated, deadline-driven financial environment.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review management accounts and financial statements.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Account for insurance and/or reinsurance-related transactions including premiums, claims, commissions and recoverables.
• Support preparation of statutory and regulatory financial reporting.
• Ensure accurate accounting treatment in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Assist with insurance-specific accounting requirements and reporting.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, finance and operations teams to ensure accurate financial information.
• Prepare schedules for auditors and maintain financial controls.
