Job summary

Santam is seeking Insurance Consultants (JG10) in Cape Town to provide end-to-end service and support to intermediaries, ensuring accurate quotations and compliant processes. You will work in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality customer interactions and maintaining strict turnaround times.

The role requires qualification in FAIS and experience in short-term insurance, with opportunities to grow within Santam’s expansive group and transformation-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 is required.
• 60 FAIS credits - Commercial lines are required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Short Term Insurance - Commercial Lines.
• A relevant insurance related qualification (e.g. NQF level 4) would be advantageous.
• Tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
• Preferable work experience in agriculture would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end service and support to intermediaries.
• Deliver exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations.
• Provide telephonic/email support to the intermediary on record, authorised representatives from the brokerage, and broker services.
• Analyse intermediary requests and provide quotations to secure the business (conversion).
• Initiate outbound calls to intermediaries to discuss quotations and/or convert policies.
• Issuing new business.
• Assist to resolve all insurance queries within required timeframe and compliance requirements.
• Manage client expectations on turnaround times for submitted requests.
• Adhere to underwriting criteria and regional requirements.
• Assist in profiling the client with the best suitable product and underwriting criteria.
• Assist in implementing solutions for improvement.
• Adhere to workforce management principles to optimize productivity.
• Prioritise workflow and ensure tasks meet productivity, quality, and timeline standards.

• Adhering to underwriting criteria and regional requirements.
• Assist with profiling the client with the best suitable product and underwriting criteria;
• Assisting in implementing solutions for improvement.
• Adhering to workforce management principles to ensure that we optimize productivity.
• Prioritise own workflow and ensure work in completed to the required standards of productivity, quality, and timelines; use performance manage systems to improve personal performance. Ensuring that business targets are met.
• Standing in for consultants should they be absent or on leave during busy periods or absence of key resources, assisting where required. Ensuring that business targets are met.

Qualifications and Experience

• Matric / Grade 12
