Job summary

Placements24 in Paarl, Western Cape, is seeking an Industrial Instrumentation Technician to install, calibrate, maintain, and repair a range of industrial instrumentation used in process control and automation.

The role covers sensors, transmitters, control valves and related systems across wine, food processing and manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate has a technical background in instrumentation and electronics, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to precision and safety.

Qualifications

Requires a technical qualification (NQF 4/5) in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 4 years as Industrial Instrumentation Technician.
Strong knowledge of sensors, transmitters, control valves and analyzers.
Proficient in calibration techniques and calibration equipment.
Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
Experience with instrument loops, control systems and safety standards (ATEX).

Responsibilities

Install, calibrate and maintain pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation faults in sensors, valves and wiring.
Perform preventative maintenance to ensure accuracy of measurement and control systems.
Interpret P&IDs and technical specs for installation tasks.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Conduct loop checks and functional tests; maintain calibration records.
