Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Instrumentation Technician for our client in Mahikeng, North West. The role covers installation, calibration, maintenance and repair of industrial instruments used in process automation.

You will read P&IDs, troubleshoot control loops and ensure safety and reliability of critical process variables, contributing to operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has a trade qualification, at least four years of industrial instrumentation experience, and readiness to work

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as an Instrumentation Technician or technical diploma/degree.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in industrial instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of process control principles and instrumentation theory.
• Experience with HART and loop testing.
• Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of safety procedures in industrial settings.
• Willing to work shifts and be available for call-outs in Mahikeng, North West.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair instrumentation devices.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation loops and control systems.
• Perform routine calibration checks for instrument accuracy.
• Interpret instrument drawings, P&IDs, and manuals.
• Collaborate with engineers and operators to resolve instrumentation issues.
• Maintain records of calibration, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Participate in hazard analyses and safety improvements related to instrumentation.
• Provide technical support to other departments as needed.
