Job summary

Transnet SOC Ltd is seeking a skilled MC&I Mechanician to maintain, fault-find, and repair instrumentation, metering, and control systems, including minor installations in hazardous locations. You will work under Transnet Pipelines policies to ensure safe custody transfer of petroleum products and comply with international standards.

The role requires an apprenticeship in instrumentation or equivalent qualification with relevant experience; a valid driver’s license and competency in SAP Plant

Qualifications

• Successfully completed apprenticeship (3 years) in process Instrumentation with 3 years on-the-job experience OR a formal technical qualification (minimum N3 at a TVET) in process instrumentation with related training and 4 years on the job experience in an instrumentation environment.

Job description

The MC&I Mechanician is responsible for maintenance, fault-finding and repair of all instrumentation, metering/measurement, and control equipment in accordance with Transnet Pipelines policies and procedures and to International Standards, in classified hazardous locations and potentially explosive atmospheres to ensure safe, efficient and effective custody transfer and transportation of petroleum products. The MC&I Mechanician Is also responsible for minor installation of MC&I equipment.
