Job summary

Globaltrack invites applications for an Installations Technician Intern in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on hands-on installation of units in client vehicles, testing, debugging and prototyping small electronics under QA standards.

The ideal candidate has a technical background, is reliable, detail-oriented and eager to gain in-job training and practical skills in electrical/electronic installations and field service. A strong can-do attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent with progress toward electrical engineering qualifications.
• Good understanding of electrical and electronic circuits.
• Computer literate and able to use basic tools.
• Driver’s and/or motorbike license.
• Willing to operate handheld tools and assist in installations.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Assessment checks of client vehicles & client yards.
• Installations of new units into client vehicles according to Globaltrack QA Standards.
• Health checks & repairs of existing units.
• Soldering on PCBs and other electronic equipment.
• Designing & assembling electronics, small prototypes for bigger projects.
• Execution of special Electronic/Engineering projects.
• Assembling and testing of units.
• Planning and client liaison regarding installations & repairs of units.
• Ensuring a positive customer experience with on-site installations.
• Ensuring vehicle, stock & toolkit is well looked after, clean & in good order.

The ideal candidates will be responsible for applying specialist technical expertise and support in installing, testing, tuning, optimizing, diagnosing problems, repairing, upgrading and maintaining Globaltrack products.
