ShopriteX is seeking an insights professional to leverage retail data assets for strategic findings. You will analyze sales, shopper, and category trends using the insights platform and train stakeholders on its use, communicating results effectively to internal and external partners.
You will coordinate small-to-mid sized supplier accounts, maintain relationships, support decision-making with data-driven stories, and help expand the value of Shoprite's data monetisation efforts.
The purpose of the role is to leverage Shoprite's rich customer and transactional retail data assets to enable strategic insights to Shoprite's internal and external stakeholders. The role includes gathering insights using a software-as-a-service (SaaS) insights platform, training stakeholders how to use the platform, and effectively communicating findings and trends using various mediums. This role provides coordination support to Insights Consultants, whilst coordinating small-to-mid sized supplier accounts, maintaining positive relationships with key supplier representatives, retaining the accounts and supporting stakeholders' decision-making processes using the insights platform. The role maintains excellent relationships with stakeholders, pursues the highest levels of support and service, is an effective communicator, and is a strong operational coordinator.
Execute analyses on sales, shopper, and category trends; identify performance drivers using standard reports and dashboards.
Interpret findings and translate observations into clear, actionable insights and recommendations (appropriate to role level).
Create and/or contribute to stakeholder presentations; deliver insights using structured storytelling and visual communication.
Support internal users and suppliers to access and use the insights platform effectively; respond to queries within agreed timeframes.
Coordinate stakeholder requirements and deliver against the workplan; escalated issues requiring senior intervention.
Build and maintain relationships across key contacts, drive account retention through dependable service.
Deliver onboarding and training on platform navigation, features, and report interpretation using approved materials.
Reinforce data definitions and reporting standards, track training attendance and adoption indicators.
Monitor usage metrics; encourage initial adoption and re-activate dormant users (as applicable to role level).
Support and/or lead category reviews for assigned suppliers to the expected standard; align outputs to category objectives.
Maintain a value tracker for insight outputs, track implementation status with stakeholders where reasonably possible.
Produce concise case studies that demonstrate impact and business value.
Maintain accurate CRM / client logs and documentation (SOPs, FAQs, one-pagers, presentations) in line with standards.
Operate incident / case management: log incidents, allocate, monitor progress, and escalated when required.
Deliver tasks/projects on time and to quality standards; participate in team initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
Tools used: REX, IDM and associated dashboards/reports; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Data stewardship: maintain accuracy, apply definitions consistently, and follow ethical research/data handling practices.
Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, Analytics, or a related field / or working towards– (essential).
+1 years’ experience in a similar capacity or role, including key account management roles in an analytics or SaaS context – (essential)
Experience working with large data sets, using analytics / insights platforms to explore the data, and presenting it in a way that delivers actionable insights and derives value – (essential).
Well-versed in communicating business recommendations and insights into well-packaged and visually appealing presentations – (essential).
Proven success working with FMCG brands, category, shopper or retail insights to shape and inform business decision-making – (highly beneficial).
Experience in delivering insights in either a large retail organisation or within a supplier business context – (highly beneficial).
Experience cross-and upselling solutions – (highly beneficial).
Proficient in using analytics (highly desired) or SaaS platforms - (desired).
Experience with retailer specific data (POS, Retailer Rewards Card data etc.) – (desired).
Experience with email marketing platforms – (desired).
