Job summary

Elanco, a global leader in animal health, is seeking an Inside Sales Representative based in Centurion, South Africa. You will build strong customer relationships with veterinarians, retail outlets and livestock producers through phone, digital and virtual channels, delivering product support and exceptional service.

The role is part of the South Africa Sales Enablement team with a hybrid work model. You will manage prospecting, education, order coordination and follow-up, using CRM platforms

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field (Business, Marketing, Animal Science).
• At least 2 years in inside sales, tele-sales, or CRM-based roles.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Veeva and with Teams or similar tools.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Leverage CRM and digital channels to execute high-volume outbound sales activity.
• Manage end-to-end sales process with veterinarians, retailers, and livestock producers.
• Develop territory sales plans to hit monthly/quarterly targets in underserved areas.

Your Role:

Inside Sales Representative

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be part of the South Africa Sales Enablement team, helping expand Elanco's reach across regional and outlying territories that are not regularly serviced by the field sales team. Based in Centurion, you will build strong customer relationships with veterinarians, retail outlets, and livestock producers through phone, digital, and virtual channels while delivering product support and a high level of service.

Your Responsibilities:

• Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms such as Salesforce and Veeva, along with Microsoft Teams, phone‑based outreach, and digital engagement, to execute high‑volume outbound sales activity and grow assigned territories.
• Manage the end‑to‑end sales process, including prospecting, customer engagement, product education, technical information sharing, order coordination, and follow‑up with veterinarians, retail outlets, and livestock producers.
• Develop and execute territory‑specific sales plans to support monthly and quarterly revenue targets in underserved areas.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, analyse sales trends, and provide feedback on market conditions and competitor activity.
• Collaborate with Field Sales and Marketing teams to coordinate customer handovers and support targeted digital campaigns.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

• Degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Animal Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in inside sales, tele‑sales, or customer relationship management.
• Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms such as Salesforce or Veeva, and virtual meeting tools such as Microsoft Teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

• Experience in the animal health or pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience building customer relationships across remote or underserved territories.
• Additional South African local language skills.
