Job summary

C3 Resource Investments (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design mechanical equipment for process plants, including piping systems and vessels. You will develop 3D models, plant layouts and interpret P&IDs to meet process needs, collaborating across disciplines from concept to commissioning.

The role requires a BEng/BSc in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of design experience in process environments, and proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or Plant 3D, plus knowledge of

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years mechanical design experience.
• Experience in process plants, piping or related environments.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and/or Plant 3D.
• Knowledge of pressure equipment and piping codes (ASME BPVC, ASME B31.1, SANS 347, EN 13480/13445).
• ECSA registration or progress towards registration advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical equipment for process plants, including piping systems and vessels.
• Develop and review 3D models and plant layouts.
• Interpret P&ID and translate requirements into mechanical designs.
• Participate across the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
• Prepare piping, valve and mechanical equipment specifications.
• Review vendor drawings, datasheets and submissions.
• Perform engineering calculations using modern analysis software.
• Work with process, piping, structural and electrical teams.
• Apply relevant pressure equipment and piping design codes.
