Placements24 is seeking a devoted Science Teacher in Rustenburg to lead General Science and Biology classes. You will create engaging lessons, supervise practical experiments, and assess student progress, fostering curiosity and scientific literacy in learners.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, safety in the lab, and mentoring students towards potential careers in education and science. A PGCE and SA teaching registration are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Science (Biology or General Science) and a PGCE or equivalent.
• Valid teaching registration with the relevant South African professional body.
• Proven track record of teaching General Science and Biology at the high school level.
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and conducting practical experiments safely.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging curriculum content for General Science and Biology classes, employing varied teaching methodologies.
• Conduct practical laboratory sessions, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and fostering experimental skills.
• Create and administer assessments to evaluate student comprehension and provide targeted feedback for improvement.
• Stay abreast of advancements in science education and integrate relevant new technologies and pedagogical approaches.
• Mentor and guide students, encouraging their interest in scientific fields and potential future careers in Education & Teaching.
