Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking school in Rustenburg, North West. You will teach General Science and Biology, delivering engaging lessons that build inquiry and critical thinking.

You will design practical experiments, assess student progress, and contribute to a collaborative science team committed to hands-on learning and scientific literacy. A PGCE and SA teaching registration are expected, with a passion for student growth.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Science (Biology or General Science) and a PGCE or equivalent.
• Valid teaching registration with the SA professional body.
• Proven track record of teaching General Science and Biology at high school level.
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and conducting practical experiments safely.
• Enthusiasm for science education and ability to simplify complex topics for learners in North West.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging General Science and Biology lessons with varied methodologies.
• Conduct practical lab sessions, ensure safety, and cultivate experimental skills.
• Create and mark assessments, provide targeted feedback.
• Stay updated with science education advances and new technologies.
• Mentor students and encourage interest in science careers.
