Euphoria Telecom in Johannesburg is seeking an Infrastructure Manager to own a hybrid cloud/on-premises production estate, lead a capable technical team and shape the platform’s evolution. You’ll run end-to-end reliability, security and performance improvements, with direct impact on customer experience.

This hands-on leadership role requires deep Linux/Windows, AWS, and database expertise, plus strong incident response, change control and automation skills to keep mission-critical services

Qualifications

• Extensive infrastructure experience with leadership of a production estate.
• 24/7 production environment responsibility with direct customer impact.
• Hybrid on-premises and cloud experience (AWS).
• Deep Linux/Windows admin incl. IIS and PowerShell.
• Strong AWS experience (EC2, VPC, RDS/Aurora, S3, IAM).
• Solid networking knowledge (routing, firewalls, VPNs, DNS).
• MySQL operations incl. replication, backups and recovery.
• Monitoring/observability, configuration management and automation.
• CI/CD and infrastructure automation expertise.
• Strong Bash/PowerShell capability and risk awareness.
• MySQL operations: replication, upgrades, backup, recovery.

About Euphoria:

Euphoria Telecom is a South African telecommunications company providing cloud-based business communication solutions to companies across the country.

We design, build and operate our own national voice platform, which means our infrastructure team works on systems that are genuinely business-critical. We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Manager who wants to take ownership of a complex production environment, lead a capable technical team and help shape the next generation of our platform.

About the role:

Our multi-tenant cloud PBX supports businesses across South Africa and runs across a hybrid environment of on-premise infrastructure and AWS.

The estate includes Asterisk PBX and carrier infrastructure, Linux and Windows application environments, MySQL platforms, networking and monitoring systems, alongside a new generation of infrastructure currently being commissioned.

As Infrastructure Manager, you’ll take end-to-end ownership of the reliability, security, performance and evolution of this environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands what it means to run infrastructure where downtime has an immediate customer impact.

What you will be responsible for:

• Owning uptime, capacity, resilience and change management across our PBX, SIP, database, application and API environments.
• Leading monitoring and observability across the estate.
• Managing and evolving our hybrid AWS and data-centre architecture, including networking, connectivity, identity and access.
• Improving deployment, configuration management and infrastructure automation across Linux and Windows environments.
• Leading platform upgrades and migrations, including the modernisation of existing systems.
• Managing infrastructure logging, auditing, backup and recovery capabilities.
• Owning infrastructure security, including credential management, least-privilege access, attack-surface reduction and telecom fraud controls.
• Leading a small infrastructure team, including the on-call function, technical standards and documentation.
• Working closely with our CTO and development teams on infrastructure architecture, platform evolution and technical risk.

What we’re looking for:

• Extensive experience in infrastructure, systems or platform engineering, with significant experience leading a team or owning a production estate.
• Proven responsibility for a 24/7 production environment where outages have a direct customer impact.
• Strong experience managing a hybrid environment spanning on-premise infrastructure and public cloud.
• Deep Linux and Windows Server administration experience, including IIS and PowerShell.
• Strong AWS experience, particularly EC2, VPC, RDS/Aurora, S3 and IAM.
• Solid networking knowledge across routing, firewalls, VPNs and DNS.
• Hands‑on MySQL operational experience, including replication, upgrades, backup and recovery.
• Strong monitoring and observability experience.
• Experience with configuration management, CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
• Strong Bash and PowerShell capability.
• Sound technical judgement, particularly around production changes, risk and understanding the potential blast radius when something goes wrong.
