Job summary

Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) seeks an Infrastructure Finance Specialist (Transacting) to lead financial modelling and transaction structuring for infrastructure projects. You will support investment advisory, due diligence, and funding structures across PPPs and blended finance.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Development Finance, Finance, Business, Engineering or Economics.
• 8+ years' experience in project finance and infrastructure finance.
• Proven ability to build project finance models in Excel.
• Experience developing and interrogating complex project finance models for structuring and bankable debt.
• Experience in infrastructure investment in emerging markets.
• Knowledge of SA infrastructure legislation and PFMA.
• Strong deal origination, structuring and negotiation skills.
• Ability to translate financial inputs into robust investment recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise detailed project finance models to support investment analysis.
• Support the preparation, structuring, negotiation and closing of infrastructure finance transactions.
• Conduct due diligence across financial, commercial, technical, environmental, legal and operational aspects.
• Develop sustainable financing structures including PPPs, blended finance and local currency funding.
• Prepare investment memoranda, financial reports and governance submissions.
• Provide financial advisory services to stakeholders and support SDG-aligned projects.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Legal, Portfolio Management and other teams.
