Job summary

Development Bank of Southern Africa invites applications for a mid-to-senior Financial Modelling & Structuring Specialist to support investment projects across the SADC region. You will build complex financial models and design innovative financing structures to enable financial closure.

This role requires deep expertise in project finance, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement with government and development partners. A professional finance qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Mid to senior level experience in financial modelling and project structuring.
• Strong expertise in financial analysis and modeling software.
• Demonstrated experience in infrastructure finance or development finance.
• Knowledge of project finance structures and principles.
• Proficiency in designing complex financing solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of development finance principles and impact assessment.
• Professional qualification in finance, accounting, or related field (preferred).
• Experience working with multilateral or bilateral development institutions (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex financial models for infrastructure and development projects.
• Design innovative financing structures and solutions tailored to specific project requirements.
• Provide expert advisory support on project financial viability and structuring options.
• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis including cash flow projections, sensitivity analysis, and scenario modeling.
• Support projects through to financial closure by ensuring appropriate financing structures are in place.
• Evaluate project risks and develop mitigation strategies within financing frameworks.
• Collaborate with project teams, government stakeholders, and development partners to structure financing solutions.
• Prepare financial documentation and advise on terms and conditions for financing agreements.
• Assess the developmental impact and sustainability of proposed financing structures.
• Contribute to DBSA’s broader development objectives through strategic project structuring.
