Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer – Vulnerability, DevOps & Automation for a remote contract based in South Africa. The role focuses on strengthening security, reliability, and automation across Windows and Linux infrastructure.

You will own vulnerability remediation and automated patching initiatives, collaborating with IT stakeholders to keep systems secure, compliant, and high-performing. This is a remote, full-time contract with opportunities to contribute to large-scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience supporting large Windows and Linux environments.
• Hands-on infrastructure automation with Ansible or similar tools.
• Proven vulnerability identification and remediation skills.
• Experience with patching, CI/CD, and DevOps workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead vulnerability remediation across Windows and Linux servers.
• Plan and support automated OS patching to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with teams to validate systems before/after patching.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and backlog refinement.
• Contribute to ServiceNow change requests and documentation.
• Troubleshoot patching issues affecting stability and security.
• Develop infrastructure automation to improve remediation efficiency.
• Engage with DevOps communities to drive improvements.
• Identify and address infrastructure vulnerabilities to maintain compliance.
• Communicate schedules, expectations, risks, and validation needs clearly.
• Mentor peers to maintain secure, available systems.
• Maintain knowledge of Confluence, Jira, and Git workflows.
