Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Specialist to join the IT department in Stellenbosch. You will implement and manage security controls, monitor systems, and promote security awareness across the organization.

The role focuses on protecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets, with opportunities for professional development and certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS or related field.
• 2-4 years information security or IT security focus.
• Familiarity with common security tools and technologies.
• Understanding of network security and OS security.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Security certifications (e.g., Security+) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage security solutions such as firewalls, antivirus, and IDS/IPS.
• Monitor security systems and analyze logs for threats or policy violations.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, coordinating remediation.
• Assist in developing and maintaining security policies and procedures.
• Conduct security awareness training for employees.
• Perform regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
