About the Role

Our client, a well-established financial services institution located in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga , is seeking an experienced Information Security Manager to oversee their compliance and audit functions. This critical role requires a leader with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management, and security best practices within the financial sector. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust compliance programs, managing internal and external audits, and ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant security standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage information security compliance programs aligned with industry regulations and standards (e.g., POPIA, PCI DSS, FICA).
• Lead and coordinate internal and external security audits, ensuring successful outcomes and timely remediation of findings.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address compliance gaps and security vulnerabilities.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of information security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
• Provide guidance and support to business units on security compliance matters.
• Develop and deliver security awareness and compliance training programs.
• Monitor the effectiveness of security controls and recommend improvements.
• Stay abreast of evolving regulatory landscapes and emerging security threats.
• Manage the incident response process for compliance-related incidents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Law, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, with a significant focus on compliance, risk management, and audits within the financial sector.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and standards applicable to financial services.
• Proven experience in managing security audits and working with regulatory bodies.
• Strong understanding of information security principles, controls, and technologies.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable security controls.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and GRC tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISSP, or CISM are highly desirable.
