Placements24 is seeking an experienced Information Security Consultant for a fully remote contract engagement. The role focuses on assessing security risks, developing security plans, and implementing robust frameworks for diverse clients.

You will advise on governance, risk, and compliance (POPIA, GDPR, ISO 27001), guide incident planning, and help with cloud, application, and network security. Strong client-facing skills and relevant certifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, IT or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in information security or advisory roles.
• Experience performing security risk assessments and developing security frameworks.
• Knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and regulatory landscapes.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA or CRISC are advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in information security, consulting, or a related advisory role.
• Demonstrated experience in performing security risk assessments and developing security frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of various security domains, including governance, risk, compliance (GRC), network security, and data protection.
• Familiarity with common cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory landscapes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements effectively.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC are highly advantageous.
• Experience advising businesses that may have operations in or near Klerksdorp is beneficial.
