Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Infant Care Specialist for a leading childcare center in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will care for infants from birth to 24 months, delivering safe supervision, sensory play, language activities, and close parent collaboration.

Ideal candidates have an ECD-related qualification and experience with infants, plus infant-specific First Aid/CPR. You will join a nurturing team committed to early development and secure, comfortable environments for babies.

Qualifications

• Evidence of qualification in Early Childhood Development or infant care.
• Experience working with infants 0–2 years is preferred.
• First Aid and infant CPR certification is mandatory.
• Strong communication, observation and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision for infants, ensuring safety and well-being at all times.
• Develop and implement sensory play, music, movement, and language activities for infant development.
• Attend to infants’ basic needs including feeding, diapering, comforting, and naps.
• Create a warm, nurturing, and responsive environment supporting security and attachment.
• Observe developmental progress, document milestones, and flag concerns.
• Communicate with parents and provide regular updates on day and development.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment following health protocols.
• Ensure feeding routines and instructions are followed accurately.
• Collaborate with other childcare professionals to ensure consistent care.
• Uphold center policies and procedures for infant care and development.
