Job summary

Genius Academy in George is seeking an experienced infant caregiver for a class of babies aged 3–12 months. You will provide holistic care, including feeding, hygiene, and safe, nurturing routines, while supporting early development through structured play.

The role requires 2–4 years of experience with infants, an ECD qualification, First Aid being a plus, and a commitment to collaboration with parents and colleagues in a busy, hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• ECD qualification (NQF 4/5 preferred).
• First Aid certification is an advantage.
• Clear criminal record.
• 2–4 years’ experience with 3–12 months age group.
• Understanding of infant developmental milestones.

Responsibilities

• Holistic care including feeding and hygiene routines for infants 3–12 months.
• Promote security and a safe, loving learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents about routines and milestones.
• Plan age-appropriate activities with the team and maintain school standards.
• Participate in development sessions and reflect on teaching practice.
• Ensure a hazard-free classroom suitable for babies.
