You will read blueprints, perform pre-installation checks, and ensure adherence to engineering specs and timelines. The role demands strong safety discipline and collaborative project work.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience installing and maintaining industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and installation manuals.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools.

• Able to work independently and within a project team.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and erect diverse industrial machinery and systems at client sites as per instructions.
• Perform pre-installation site readiness checks and resource planning.
• Conduct system testing, calibration, and initial operation checks after installation.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and perform adjustments to optimize operation.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and use PPE according to safety rules.
• Maintain installation records, progress reports, and checklists.

About the Role

Our client seeks a meticulous and experienced Industrial Equipment Installer to join their growing operations in Durban . This role is crucial for the successful setup and commissioning of various industrial machinery and systems used in manufacturing and production environments. You will be responsible for ensuring that all installations are performed safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with technical specifications and project timelines. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on professional to contribute to key industrial projects within the KwaZulu‑Natal province.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and erect diverse industrial machinery, components, and systems at client sites according to blueprints and engineering instructions.
• Perform pre-installation checks, including site readiness assessment and equipment inspection, ensuring all necessary resources are available.
• Conduct system testing, calibration, and initial operational checks post-installation to verify functionality and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation‑related issues, making necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure optimal equipment operation.
• Adhere to stringent health and safety protocols , including lockout/tagout procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain clear and concise installation records, including daily progress reports, checklists, and any encountered challenges.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in installing and maintaining industrial equipment, machinery, or heavy mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings , schematics, and installation manuals.
