Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Junior Industrial Engineer for an internship in Randburg, Gauteng. This role provides a solid foundation for aspiring engineers by offering hands-on exposure to production data analysis, lean initiatives, and process improvement in a real-world industrial setting.

You will work alongside experienced engineers, participate in time studies and SOP development, and contribute to efficiency projects while learning core industrial engineering methodologies.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Basic understanding of Industrial Engineering principles and methodologies.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel.
• Strong desire to learn and develop practical engineering skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in collecting and analyzing production data to identify improvements.
• Support implementation of lean manufacturing techniques and efficiency initiatives.
• Conduct time studies and motion analyses under supervision.
• Help develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute process improvement ideas.
• Learn and apply industrial engineering software tools and methodologies.
