Placements24 is recruiting an Industrial Engineer for our Paarl facility to drive efficiency in processing and logistics. You will analyze workflows, implement improvements, and ensure cost-effective operations in the agricultural processing sector.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, 4+ years of relevant experience, and strong Lean Six Sigma knowledge. You will lead process mapping, time studies, and KPI development while ensuring food safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial engineering with a focus on operations and process improvement.
• Proven experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency with process mapping, simulation tools and data analysis software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence change at all levels.
• Experience in agricultural or food processing is highly desirable.
• Understanding of supply chain and logistics in Paarl region.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsabilités

• Analyze current operational processes in processing plants and logistics to identify inefficiencies.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows, material handling, and resource utilization.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and cost-benefit assessments for proposed improvements.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma methods to reduce waste and improve quality.
• Design and implement improved plant layouts and procedures.
• Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and staff to ensure successful changes.
• Develop and monitor KPIs for operational efficiency and productivity.
• Prepare detailed reports on process performance, savings, and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and environmental regulations.
• Provide training and guidance on new processes and best practices.
