Placements24 seeks an Industrial Engineer to optimize Richards Bay’s logistics and supply chain operations. The role focuses on improving efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability across the supply chain from sourcing to distribution.

The candidate will model flows, analyze data, and implement strategies that drive measurable improvements, collaborating with procurement, production, and logistics partners in KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a specialization in logistics and supply chain operations.
• Proficiency in analytical and simulation software for supply chain analysis (e.g., AnyLogic, LLamasoft, or similar).
• Strong understanding of warehousing, transportation modes, and inventory control strategies.
• Experience with WMS and TMS software is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with international trade and customs procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing logistics and supply chain processes to identify inefficiencies, cost drivers, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement strategies for optimizing inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution networks.
