About the Role

Our client, a prominent logistics and distribution company based in Centurion, Gauteng , is actively seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to optimize their supply chain operations. This role is critical in enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving the overall performance of warehousing and distribution processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, expertise in logistics, and a proven track record in implementing successful operational improvements. You will be responsible for analyzing existing logistics networks, identifying areas for enhancement, and designing innovative solutions. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you can apply your engineering skills to real-world supply chain challenges in Centurion . The role requires close collaboration with warehouse management, transportation teams, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and efficiency across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the entire supply chain network, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory management, to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and implement optimized warehouse layouts, material flow strategies, and storage systems.
• Design and improve transportation routes and logistics networks to minimize transit times and costs.
• Utilize data analytics and simulation tools to model supply chain scenarios and evaluate potential improvements.
• Develop and maintain performance metrics and KPIs for logistics operations and report on trends and performance to management.
• Implement lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies within warehousing and distribution functions.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate and optimize supply chain management software and systems.
• Manage projects related to logistics infrastructure upgrades, automation, and process enhancements in the Gauteng region.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a specialization in logistics and supply chain operations.
• Proven experience in optimizing warehouse operations, transportation management, and inventory control.
