Job summary

Zecutive Consultants seeks an Energy Management Engineer to lead energy efficiency initiatives at a large steel facility in Vander Bijl Park. The role requires on-site presence, client engagement, and strong collaboration with plant managers to reduce energy consumption across utilities.

The candidate will design and implement energy solutions, analyze consumption data and report results, while managing installations and safeguarding health and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or higher (Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical)
• Proficiency in Afrikaans required for bilingual meetings
• Valid driver’s license and own transport
• Medically fit and willing to work on project site
• 3–6 years’ experience in energy efficiency engineering
• Experience in project management is highly recommended
• Experience in energy management analysis and optimization essential
• Sound knowledge of reporting and software literacy

Responsibilities

• Identify, implement and maintain energy efficiency initiatives at an industrial steel facility on site in Vander Bijl Park.
• Design, development and implementation of energy project solutions for the client.
• Interpret energy consumption reports and identify optimization opportunities to monitor and report results.
• Propose interventions based on data-driven results.
• Carry out site visits and audits at regular intervals.
• Operate, maintain and fault-find project infrastructure to ensure performance.
• Engage with plant managers and specialists to reduce energy use across utilities.
• Understand processes to reduce energy without harming operations.
• Develop and implement quality assurance plans and procedures.
• Manage installation and commissioning of new equipment on site.
• Provide project management services and monitor performance post-implementation.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and supervised on site.
• Supervise site personnel and subcontractors as needed.
• Promote company values and ethical standards; engage with clients and manage expectations.
