Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician with a High Voltage specialization to join our client in Klerksdorp, North West. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HV systems across industrial facilities, ensuring safe, reliable power and minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate holds a Wireman’s license and NQF 4/5, with at least 7 years in industrial electrical work (3+ years HV).

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with a valid Wireman’s license and NQF Level 4/5.
• Minimum 7 years as Industrial Electrician, with at least 3 years in High Voltage.
• Experience with HV switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and HV cable termination.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures for HV work.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical docs.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for HV systems.
• Able to work independently and with a team; on-call readiness.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HV electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, motors, control systems).
• Perform diagnostic testing and fault troubleshooting on HV systems.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance for reliability and safety.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed.
• Manage electrical project work and ensure timely completion within budget.
• Work with substation equipment and distribution networks.
