Our client, a major player in the industrial sector, is looking for a skilled and experienced Industrial Cleaning Operative (Specialized) to join their operations in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal . This demanding role involves performing specialized cleaning tasks in industrial environments, such as factories, processing plants, and heavy machinery areas. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of industrial cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and the handling of hazardous materials. This position requires a proactive approach, excellent physical condition, and the ability to work effectively in challenging conditions. Key Responsibilities

• Execute specialized cleaning procedures for industrial equipment, machinery, and plant areas, including high-pressure washing, degreasing, and chemical cleaning.
• Safely handle and dispose of industrial waste and hazardous materials according to strict environmental and safety regulations.
• Operate and maintain specialized industrial cleaning equipment, ensuring its readiness and safety.
• Conduct pre- and post-cleaning inspections to ensure all tasks are completed to the required standards.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Identify potential hazards in the work environment and report them to the supervisor immediately.
• Work as part of a team to complete cleaning projects efficiently and effectively.
• Follow detailed work instructions and technical specifications for each cleaning task.
• Assist in the training of new operatives on specialized cleaning techniques and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an industrial cleaner or in a related heavy-duty cleaning role.
• Demonstrable knowledge of industrial cleaning chemicals, solvents, and their applications.
• Experience operating industrial cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, steam cleaners, and vacuum systems.
• A strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within an industrial setting.
• Ability to handle hazardous materials and waste safely.
• Excellent physical fitness and ability to perform demanding tasks in potentially harsh conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and occasional overtime, as dictated by operational needs in Richards Bay .
