Job summary

One&Only Cape Town seeks an experienced Income Auditor to oversees daily audits of hotel revenue streams and ensures accuracy across POS, PMS, and GL. You will verify room rates, discounts, and revenue mappings while reconciling ledgers and supporting month-end processes.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in Income Audit or hotel accounting and advanced Excel skills. The role requires hospitality accounting knowledge and experience in a five-star hotel environment, with a focus on cash controls

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Finance - Hospitality Management or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in Income Audit or hotel accounting.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Experience in a five-star hotel environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily audits of hotel revenue streams from POS to PMS to GL.
• Ensure all revenue transactions have source documentation.
• Verify room rates, packages, and discounts for proper authorization.
• Reconcile guest ledgers and revenue interfaces; report discrepancies promptly.
• Verify accuracy of revenue mappings between operational and accounting systems.
• Handle month-end re-allocations of expenses and accruals.
• Perform monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
• Assist with collecting and preparing audit deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures and internal controls.
• Assist departments in resolving revenue-related discrepancies.
• Promote revenue integrity and hotel-wide compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily audits of all hotel revenue streams and statistics from from POS to PMS to GL;


• Ensure all revenue transactions are supported by appropriate source documentation;


• Verify room rates, packages, complimentary rooms, house use rooms, and discounts for appropriate authorization;


• Reconcile Guest ledger, City ledger, Deposit ledgers, Revenue interfaces, investigate & report discrepancies promptly;


• Verify the accuracy of revenue mappings between operational systems and accounting systems;


• Month-end processes i.e. re-allocations of expenses and accruals;


• Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts;


• Assist with collecting and preparing audit deliverables;


• Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures and internal controls;


• Assist operational departments in resolving revenue-related discrepancies;


• Promote revenue integrity and compliance across the hotel.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of Excel;


• Diploma or Degree in Finance - Hospitality Management or related field;


• 3-5 years' experience in Income Audit, Revenue Audit or Hotel Accounting;


• Experience within a five-star hotel environment preferred;


• Working knowledge of hospitality accounting principles and revenue controls;


• Experience with hotel management systems and accounting software.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;


• Accurate & deadline oriented.
