Placements24 is seeking an in-house Legal Counsel for a Kimberley-based role. You will provide broad legal support across commercial contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance to safeguard the company’s interests.

The ideal candidate is admitted attorney or advocate in South Africa with at least 7 years’ corporate or commercial law experience, preferably in-house, and excellent analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Admitted attorney or advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
• 7+ years of corporate or commercial law experience, in-house preferred.
• Proven ability to handle diverse legal matters effectively and efficiently.
• Strong understanding of contract and corporate law and SA legislation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements.
• Provide legal advice on corporate governance, compliance, and risk management.
• Assist with regulatory filings and ensure adherence to statutory requirements.
• Support business units on legal issues arising from operations.
• Manage external legal counsel and oversee litigation or dispute resolution processes as needed.
