Placements24 in Centurion is seeking an experienced In-House Counsel specializing in contract law to support commercial operations. You will be the primary legal contact for contract review and negotiation, collaborating with procurement, sales and operations to protect the company's interests in the competitive South African market.

The role requires admitted attorney with 5+ years in commercial contracts, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and a solid understanding of contract lifecycle

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic enterprise based in Centurion , is seeking an experienced In-House Counsel with a specialization in contract law. This role is integral to supporting the company's commercial operations by ensuring all contractual agreements are legally sound, risk-mitigated, and aligned with business objectives. You will be the primary legal point of contact for contract review and negotiation, working closely with departments such as procurement, sales, and operations to facilitate smooth business dealings and protect the company's interests within the competitive South African market.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including service agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
• Provide legal advice on contract interpretation and potential liabilities.
• Develop and implement standard contract templates and playbooks to streamline processes.
• Collaborate with business teams to understand their needs and translate them into legally compliant agreements.
• Maintain a central repository of contracts and ensure adherence to corporate policies.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with at least 5 years of experience in commercial contract law, preferably in-house or at a top-tier firm.
• Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
