Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Childminder and Early Development Facilitator for a family in Bloemfontein. The role centers on creating a safe, nurturing environment to support overall development and wellbeing, with emphasis on age-appropriate activities and strong communication with parents.

Ideal candidates will have a background in early childhood education, at least two years of childcare experience, and relevant First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.
• Strong understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate activities.
• Excellent childcare skills, including patience, empathy, and creativity.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Proficiency in English and Afrikaans is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct childcare, ensuring the safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, games, and crafts to promote learning and development.
• Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and hygiene.
• Prepare healthy and nutritious meals and snacks.
• Foster positive behavior and social-emotional development.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for the children.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding the child's progress, needs, and daily activities.
• Organize supervised outings to parks and other child-friendly locations in Bloemfontein.
• Administer basic first aid and respond to any minor health concerns.
• Keep simple records of daily activities and developmental observations.
