Job summary

Temple Israel Cape Town is a Progressive Jewish congregation seeking a Financial Manager to oversee budgeting, reporting, controls and risk management. The role collaborates with the executive director, treasurer and Board, guiding financial strategy and member engagement on fees and governance.

The successful candidate will ensure sustainable financial health, lead annual statements, and manage payroll and compliance within a charity context.

Qualifications

• BCom degree or equivalent financial qualification.
• Minimum 5 years in a financial manager or similar role.
• Experience with budgets, forecasts, cash flow and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing Annual Financial Statements for review.
• Strong controls, compliance, payroll and tax knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, reporting and accounting practices for accuracy and transparency.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting and annual financial statements.
• Manage payroll, tax obligations and financial controls.
• Monitor cash flow, forecasts and financial risks.
• Engage with ED, Treasurer and Board to align financial strategy.
