Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Social Worker to join the Family Services team in Centurion, Gauteng. You will assess family needs, develop intervention plans, and connect families with community resources to improve outcomes for children and adults.

Responsibilities include counseling, court report preparation, and collaboration with schools and health providers to deliver holistic support in a non-remote, on-site role in Centurion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) registered with SACSSP.
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in family-focused social work.
• Knowledge of child protection legislation, policies and best practices.
• Excellent report writing, advocacy and mediation skills.
• Ability to manage a demanding caseload under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of family dynamics, risks and needs in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Develop and implement tailored case management plans for families requiring support.
• Provide counseling and therapeutic interventions to individuals and families.
• Facilitate supervised contact between children and non-custodial parents when necessary.
• Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers and community agencies for holistic support.
• Prepare court reports and represent the organization in legal proceedings as required.
