Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Family Support Specialist to join the Community & Social Care team in Centurion. The role focuses on direct support, counseling, and linking families to resources to strengthen family bonds and well-being within Gauteng.

Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to create a supportive ecosystem for families in need, while maintaining confidential records and progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Family Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of direct experience with families in social care or counseling.
• Proficiency in family systems theory and intervention techniques.
• Knowledge of child welfare regulations and community services in Centurion.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of family dynamics, needs, and strengths.
• Provide individual and family counseling sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to each family's unique circumstances.
• Facilitate access to community resources, including educational programs, parenting workshops, and health services.
• Offer crisis intervention and support during challenging family situations.
