Job summary

Placements24 in Mossel Bay is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to contribute to major construction projects. This hybrid role combines on-site inspections with remote design work, ensuring structural integrity and safety, in collaboration with architects, PMs and construction teams.

The ideal candidate has a degree in structural/civil engineering, professional registration (Pr Eng with ECSA), strong design and analysis experience, and proficiency with SAP2000, Etabs, Revit Structure and CAD

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) preferred.
Significant experience in structural design and analysis for buildings and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design, analyze, and oversee the implementation of structural components for construction projects.
Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, and specifications for structural systems.
Conduct site investigations and assessments to evaluate existing structures and ground conditions.
Collaborate with architects and other consultants to ensure integrated and functional designs.
Ensure all structural designs comply with building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Review shop drawings and provide technical support to construction teams during erection.
