Job summary

Lightstone is seeking a Spatial Data Analyst with strong statistical competency to join our team in Gauteng, South Africa. The role focuses on property and retail analytics, bridging deep data interrogation with client-facing prototyping.

You will query large datasets, run statistical models in Python (geopandas, shapely, GDAL), and build lightweight dashboards to showcase concepts before production. Hybrid work is offered with mentorship and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• BSc or BCom (Hons preferred) in Statistics, Geoinformatics / GIS (with a strong stats focus)
• 1 to 3 years of professional, hands-on experience in a data-heavy corporate or consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Query, clean, and manipulate massive datasets using SQL and Spatial SQL.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and run hypothesis tests using Python; build predictive/descriptive models.
• Prototype dashboards/POCs for clients using Power BI or Python-based tools and present findings.
