Placements24 is seeking a Lead Curriculum Developer for Mathematics and Science in the Sandton area. This senior appointment will design, develop, implement, and refine curricula across all grade levels, aligning with national standards and international best practices.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Mathematics Education, Science Education, or a related STEM field.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing complex curriculum projects.
• In-depth knowledge of curriculum frameworks, assessment theory and pedagogical best practices in STEM education.

Responsabilités

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of Mathematics and Science curricula for all relevant grade levels, ensuring alignment with national educational frameworks and international best practices.
• Oversee the creation of comprehensive lesson plans, teaching resources, assessment tools, and learning materials.
• Conduct research into emerging trends, technologies, and pedagogical approaches in Mathematics and Science education.
• Manage and mentor a team of curriculum developers and subject matter specialists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Develop and implement strategies for effective curriculum rollout, teacher training and professional development.
• Ensure that the curriculum effectively addresses diverse learning needs and promotes critical thinking, problem-solving and inquiry-based learning.
• Collaborate with school leadership, faculty and external consultants to gather feedback and inform curriculum decisions.
• Establish clear metrics and processes for evaluating curriculum effectiveness and student outcomes.
• Champion the integration of technology and innovative teaching methodologies within the STEM disciplines.
• Stay abreast of changes in assessment requirements and ensure curriculum supports student success in standardized and external examinations.
