Placements24 is seeking a Senior RF Optimization Engineer in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, SA. The role blends remote analysis with essential field work to optimize 4G/5G networks. You will analyze drive tests and OSS logs, tune LTE/5G parameters, and mentor junior engineers.

The position requires 5–7 years in RF planning, strong KPI knowledge, and collaboration with vendor teams. A hybrid setup and travel to local sites are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 5–7 years in RF planning and optimization for mobile networks (2G/3G/4G/5G).
• Strong knowledge of RF principles, propagation models and KPIs.
• Experience with vendors (Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia) and tools (TEMS, Nemo).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze RF performance data to identify improvements.
• Develop RF optimization strategies for coverage and capacity.
• Tune parameters for LTE and 5G networks.
• Troubleshoot RF issues including interference and data speeds.
• Visit sites for measurements, alignment, and verification.
• Prepare reports on network performance and optimizations.
• Stay updated on RF tech trends and mentor juniors.
