Job summary

BOSS ERP Consulting is seeking a Senior Data & ML Engineer to design, build and operate automated data pipelines feeding a central SSOT data platform. You will implement scalable data models across staging, core, marts and ML feature sets, and enable ML-ready data with MLOps practices.

The role focuses on AI/ML-ready data structures, cross-functional system integrations, and governance aligned with policy. This is a weekly hybrid role in Cape Town with a guaranteed package range in ZAR.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
• 5+ years in data engineering/ data platform development at a senior/ lead level.
• Programming foundations in Python, SQL and/or C#.
• Hands-on responsibility for API integration, ETL/ELT orchestration, data modelling and production operations.
• Strong SQL skills (DDL/DML, performance tuning, stored procedures, views, functions).
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering and ML-enabling tasks, plus experience with ETL.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain end-to-end automated data pipelines from internal and external sources into a central data platform.
• Develop an integrated and scalable SSOT database, consolidating data from ERP, OT/IoT, SharePoint.
• Own end to end data development solutions.
• Design scalable data models across staging, core, marts, and feature sets for ML/analytics.
• Implement MLOps practices (versioning, CI/CD, monitoring, retraining strategies).
• Oversee data platform development and governance per policy.
• Ensure data integrity and seamless asset/platform integration.
