Placements24 in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, seeks a Senior Chemistry Tutor to support students with individualized and small-group tutoring. The role blends on-site and remote sessions to foster understanding of general, organic, inorganic and physical chemistry and to improve exam readiness.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's in Chemistry or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to mentor diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Master's in Chemistry or closely related field (Bachelor's with substantial experience considered)
• 4+ years teaching, tutoring, or mentoring in Chemistry at tertiary or secondary level
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills for diverse audiences
• Ability to develop and adapt educational materials and resources
• Proven experience working in a Hybrid on-site/remote capacity

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group Chemistry tutoring to students at varying levels
• Explain complex chemical concepts clearly and effectively
• Develop teaching strategies and resources to support learning
• Assist with homework, reports and exam preparation
• Monitor progress, identify difficulties and provide targeted support
• Collaborate with faculty and advisors to coordinate tutoring services
• Maintain records of sessions and student progress
• Stay updated on Chemistry curriculum and standards
