Placements24 is seeking a Geophysicist with expertise in seismic data analysis to join our exploration team in Port Elizabeth. You will interpret subsurface structures and identify hydrocarbon reservoirs using seismic datasets along with geological data.

You will work with advanced geophysical software, collaborating with geologists and reservoir engineers to support exploration strategies in the South African energy sector.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geophysics, Physics, or related geoscience discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in seismic data interpretation and analysis, preferably in oil and gas.
• Proficiency with Petrel, OpendTect, Kingdom.
• Strong understanding of seismic processing techniques and data quality assessment.
• Experience with amplitude variation with offset (AVO) analysis and attribute analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Process, interpret, and analyze 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures, faults, and stratigraphic features.
• Integrate seismic data with well log and core data to build accurate subsurface models.
• Perform seismic attribute analysis, velocity modeling, and depth conversion to enhance reservoir characterization.
