Placements24 in George, Western Cape, is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Retail Buyer to support the Senior Buying team with product selection, supplier negotiations, and inventory planning. This entry-level role offers exposure to the full retail buying cycle and opportunities to develop expertise in merchandising within the George market.

You will analyze sales trends, assist in sample reviews, maintain PO records, and collaborate on visual merchandising.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in the selection and sourcing of merchandise, aligning with market trends and customer preferences.
Support the negotiation process with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
Analyze sales performance data to identify best-selling items and areas for inventory optimization.
Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure effective product presentation and visual displays in stores.
Conduct market research to identify new product opportunities, competitor activities, and emerging fashion or product trends.
Maintain accurate product information and purchase order records.
Participate in product sample reviews and provide feedback on quality and suitability.
Assist in managing inventory levels and minimizing stockouts or overstock situations.
