Job summary

Scriptex is seeking a QA Engineer (Mid-Senior) in Stellenbosch to ensure software releases meet business requirements and quality standards. You will translate complex processes into robust test coverage, investigate issues, and collaborate with developers, analysts and stakeholders to drive quality.

Responsibilities include functional, integration and regression testing across web apps and APIs, SQL data validation, and coordinating user acceptance testing.

Qualifications

• Experience testing complex business applications.
• Translate business processes into meaningful test coverage and plan.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation and investigation.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
• Experience with test/defect management tools like Azure DevOps and Jira.
• Ability to coordinate testing across multiple stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements, stories and acceptance criteria to identify gaps and testing needs.
• Define test approaches based on business impact, risk and complexity.
• Create and maintain test scenarios, cases and data.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory and end-to-end testing of web apps, APIs and integrations.
• Validate data with SQL queries and report results clearly to stakeholders.
• Log defects with evidence, assess severity and verify fixes.
• Coordinate UAT and support business users through the release process.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, tests and defects.
• Report progress, coverage and release risks; suggest release readiness improvements.
• Identify automation opportunities and contribute to automated regression coverage.
