Placements24 is seeking a PR and Communications Specialist for our renewable energy client in Upington, Northern Cape. The role blends office collaboration with remote work and focuses on shaping the company narrative, media relations, and stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years' PR experience, excellent writing skills, and familiarity with SA media. Enjoy a hybrid model with growth opportunities in a dynamic energy sector.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in public relations, communications, or media relations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong editing and proofreading abilities.
• Familiarity with the South African media landscape.
• Experience in building media lists and conducting media outreach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with PR software (e.g., Cision, Meltwater).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment (in-office and remote).
• Interest in renewable energy sector desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in development and execution of PR and communication strategies.
• Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and PR materials.
• Build and maintain relationships with local and national media outlets.
• Monitor media coverage and report on mentions and industry trends.
• Respond to media inquiries and facilitate interviews for company spokespeople.
• Support content creation for website, social media, and internal comms.
• Plan and coordinate PR events and campaigns.
• Maintain media contact databases.
• Collaborate with internal teams for consistent brand messaging.
• Support crisis communication efforts as needed.
