The ideal candidate has a BA in communications and 0–2 years in PR, with strong writing, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or a relevant communications role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in crafting press releases is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools and practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and execution of media relations strategies for Welkom-based initiatives.
• Respond promptly to media inquiries, providing accurate information and coordinating interviews.
• Monitor media coverage of the company and its competitors, compiling daily clips and reports.
• Draft and edit press releases, media kits, and other PR collateral under supervision.
• Support the planning and execution of press conferences and media events.
• Maintain and update the media contact database for effective outreach.
